Maria Sharapova Turns TV Producer (0)25 / 10 / 2007

Tennis star Maria Sharapova is developing a television series, reports Variety. Sharapova is attached to co-executive the project, which is set up at The CW. There aren’t any specific details revealed about the potential series yet, but its known to be a sports-themed drama. Jacob Epstein (Shark / Without a Trace) is teaming with Sharapova as the writer and an executive producer on the project.

When she was 4 years old, a chance encounter changed her life. She met with the father of tennis champion Yevgeny Kafelnikov, and the man gave her a racket. From that moment, she started hitting tennis balls. The game soon became a passion for her. Two years later, she was performing at a tennis clinic when another tennis champion changed her life.
